WELCOME TO NUGOLD
We are always happy to share our information
Hi everyone. As many of you know, I have been involved with Golden Retrievers for over 30 years and the Lagotto Romagnolo breed for over 20 years . I have for a number years not been in a position to breed or show due to work commitments. I have had a fantastic last few years showing, titling both boys, Kracka and Teddi.
We are currently taking a long break from showing and competing - work and study commitments as well as spending more time with my family are my priorities for the next couple of years.
We have had the final litter from Izzy, my lagotto romagnolo in May 2021 but that was her last litter and she is desexed. So whilst this is sad in some ways, given my love of this breed and that as a breeder I was helped by breeders in Italy, I am very grateful for having had the opportunity to be a part of this in Western Australia.
I have also been so blessed to now have Golden Retrievers back into my life..... I struggled for a lot of years over the loss of my last beautiful boy, Brady..... but those who have had a goldie also know it is hard to live without one!!! So I was blessed with the beautiful girl, Emma, (Piarki Perfect Emma) who was shown once at 5 months and won Baby Puppy in Group and after an 18 month break, her first adult show she took BOB and Intermediate in Group. I will set up a page for Emma. Emma sadly has just passed and life without her will be full of memories and her love of rolling in the grass, but it is a sad time this close to Christmas. Charli has now been desexed and she is now living with a lovely couple who lost their two old dogs and wanted an older dog to love and spoil. I was then blessed to have Kracka - Ch Zenevieva Ice Kracker for Nugold (Irl) thanks to Kerrie and he is an absolute sweetheart! The most stunning temperament, gentle, balanced nature that he is passing onto his progeny. After he has now sired a few litters, we have kept a daughter, Elli who has only been very lighty shown to date (hmm, due to my busy work life and lack of training on my part), where she had some great wins as Baby in Show, unfortunately her perfect scissor bite turned into a level bite as an adult - so beautiful conformation but will not be shown. I was then fortunate to have Teddii from Karen Vowell, Teddii is sired by her Maddox who passed away a few years ago now, but a dog that I always admired. Again we have been extremely blessed as Teddii has to date had a stunning show career, gaining his Championship title at just over 12 months and having many class in groups, several in Show wins as well as Runner up in Group wins. Now over 2 years of age, whilst he is a stunning dog, showing is not something I am doing at this time in my life, so we are not campaigning him to his Grand. My main concern is always for the purity of the breed. We are determined that "as best as we can" the breed will remain true to the standard and that applies to my Goldies and the Lagotto - the way the Italian Breeders of Lagotto intended. To do anything less would be disrespectful and would not have the breed at their heart!
